Almost a week until the Superbowl parties! Whether you throw a party, go to a party, or just watch at home, a lot of people are all about the yummy snacks for Superbowl Sunday. Well, maybe some like watching the game, but guess what? There are lots of great healthy snacks that won’t give you a stomachache after indulging!
SOME HEALTHY SNACK IDEAS FOR SUPERBOWL SUNDAY:
- Instead of those nasty frozen packaged meatballs, make your own early in the week from grass-fed ground beef, and then freeze. The day of the game, just throw them into a crock-pot with your favorite sauce! (We love “Bone Suckin’ Sauce” – more info on where to find that at the bottom of this Guinness beer recipes post.)
- Feel like chicken wings? Just get them at a farm where you know they raise the chickens in healthy ways, and you can eat all you want!
- You could have these healthy hot dogs.
- You could find some organic, or even better – some sprouted tortilla chips, and make healthy nachos. Grass-fed taco meat (see above), raw cheese or at least “all-natural”, organic veggies, homemade or Daisy brand sour cream, etc.!
- Ann Marie told me about the tator tots from Whole Foods – yes, they’re a packaged food, but they’re organic and fried in palm oil. You could toss some of those into the oven for a fun snack!

As a side note, don’t you wish they had this game on a Friday or Saturday night? I care so little about the Superbowl as it is, but even Kent wishes it wasn’t always on a Sunday night. Not that I’d watch the game no matter when it’s on, but I might be more interested in the parties and food! I honestly don’t have a clue who is playing this year, although I think I heard it’s in Florida…
