This Italian Herb Cheese Dip is so flavorful, and I love how nutritious it is, too. As much as I’m always trying to get more probiotics into the kids, I was kind of hoping they wouldn’t like this too much so there would be leftovers. They were all over it, though. 🙂
This recipe is adapted from an article by Jen Allbritton in Wise Traditions. Read more there about the health benefits of probiotic foods. (Foods are best, but supplements are here for when you need them.)
Italian Herb Cheese Dip
- 1 cup yogurt cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (or fresh garlic)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- Fresh or dried herbs of your choice (basil, thyme, rosemary, oregano, etc.)
Mix together until smooth. That's it!
For a good appetizer:
Heat your favorite organic pasta sauce and pour over the top of the dip. Use whatever dippers you’d like: crusty bread, organic crackers, or try the homemade soaked crackers recipe in Nourishing Traditions – they’re pretty easy and really good. I’ll post the recipe one of these days after I make them again. Or try these sourdough crackers!
