Happy Halloween readers!  Isn’t it a bummer when Halloween falls on a Monday?  This means that tonight will be like a big fire drill:  “Hurry and eat dinner!  Hurry and get your costumes on!  Can someone get the door?!, Hurry let’s go trick or treating to get some junk food that will make you ornery and sick!, Oh we’re out of time and can’t get more candy now?  Stop throwing a sugar fit, you have to get some sleep tonight, you have school tomorrow!”  And on it will go.  I actually shouldn’t complain too much, because it does go a little easier these days now that I’m not doing day care anymore, so I can feed the kids right after school and cut the craziness down some.  I really don’t know how you work-outside-the-home parents do it!  We’re also looking forward to some good friends coming to trick or treat with us, so even though I made it sound all nutty, we’ll have fun.  I hope you will, too!  :)

On the lack of desire for that kind of candy, yes indeed. I still love chocolate but it’s very rare when I out and out crave it.

The same thing happened to me recently — I used to love Reese’s peanut butter cups, but the last time I ate one it tasted too artificial; no longer even sounds good! Still waiting for that to happen to my kids though!

I have no desire for it either. I must admit that lately I’ve been wanting whipped cream. Unfortunately I am out of cream right now.

I have no desire for any kind of candy, though I used to love chocolate. My wife, who really used to love all kinds of candy, cakes, and cookies, no longer wants any of them, or any other kind of sweet.

The effect on our health has been wonderful.

For us, eating large amounts of good butter and grassfed animal fat is what made the difference. No more sugar cravings, of any kind.

I just looked at the timeline of FDA raids. I hadn’t realized this has been going on that long. It really is horrible what they are getting away with.

I don’t crave candy anymore, either. My favorite was always Almond Joy. I did try one a few days ago, just to see if I still really liked it and it was too sickeningly sweet. I didn’t enjoy it. I know there must be a real food version, considering the main ingredients are coconut and almonds.

Regarding the charities that seek donations to “cure” a particular disease, I have been following them since the early sixties.

As far as I can tell, despite over 50 years of massive contributions, not a single disease has been cured. Not even one.

Stanley, I don’t believe they are really looking for cures. They want everyone on drugs.

Linda, I could not agree with you more.

I made a meal based on your recipe for hamburger salad and posted it today! I changed it quite a bit but the inspiration still came from you! Thanks!

I love chocolate. But real candy is gross.

Haven’t eaten commercial candy in years -does not appeal to me whatsoever especially when I can make homemade chocolates that are AMAZING and actually pretty healthy!
