Sadly, most of the real solutions to dental issues that many of us deal with are unknown to the vast majority of mainstream dentists. Why is that? Who knows, especially when time and again, these alternative solutions WORK. When I posted recently, Can Cavities Really be *Healed*?, just on my little blog three people in the comments shared their stories of healing with real food, and I've heard many more stories like those from readers too.

I find the “What minerals may be too high and be causing problems in your mouth” topic quite interesting.
I will respectfully disagree in part about the fluoride observations. My research indicates that as a society our food supply is trace mineral deficient. If both organic farmers en masse would use full spectrum trace mineral fertilizers, our food would have much higher trace mineral levels and people would be healthier. See https://highbrixnutrientdensefoods.com/2012/05/03/the-benefits-of-high-brix-nutrient-dense-foods-part-1/ Naturally, this would mean fluoride content would be substantially higher. Trace mineral levels have plummeted more than other minerals in our food. However, in this context of intelligent trace mineral plant feeding, balance is key. Fluoride AND over 80 other trace minerals would be at much higher levels.
I agree that high fluoride levels in water for mainstream organic and conventional farmers does not promote health in any shape or form by itself. These farmers are ignoring trace mineral balance. Synergies exist between different trace minerals, when you have them all and in abundance. A large chunk of the fluoride comes from toxic sources anyway. I am reading an interesting book titled Minerals for the Genetic Code in which it says excessive fluoride levels make iodine unavailable (p.xiii).
Thank you for putting together this excellent summary, Kelly.

I hope people keep making these outrageous claims, so that I can stay in business. While there may be some truth in some of the suggestions, we are taught about the majority of these things in school, and most have very little benefit. I enjoyed the comment about how the probiotics removed the soft spot, since we know that removal of bacteria is what causes a “soft spot” to disappear, right?

I’m not an expert, and I don’t claim to be. However. I have seen first-hand the impact that nutrition makes on teeth. I’m sorry, but eating right isn’t a load of garbage, and it’s a lot cheaper than fillings at the dentist. I can’t see how good nutrition could ever be a waste of time.

Nor am I arguing that eating correctly won’t help your oral health. Foods with fluoride and calcium are excellent for your teeth. And if you combine that with an anti-cariogenic diet (ie food low in fermentable carbs), your risk for cavities decrease drastically. Just don’t tell me that probiotics (or some of the other nonsubstantiated claims) decreased the chances for cavities when there is little proof the probiotics does much for your entire body. It is reckless to imply such. Same goes for many of the claims for the seminar. I’m all for finding wonder drugs and such, but don’t give hope where there isn’t proof.

What a load of garbage. Do not waste your money.

I spent last week watching all of the videos in the summit, and they were super informative! I literally took 20+ pages of notes, saved all of the presenters websites and read as much of the additional resources as I could. Before the summit, I guess I realized the importance of certain nutrients, but nothing like I do now. It was so generous of them to offer it for free for the week, before including it in the upgrade package! It would be great to have the meal plans and all the other extras!

Several years ago my sons were struggling with cavities in their baby teeth. I was doing everything “right”. We brushed, flossed, and swished daily, and I have always limited the sugar they eat. Finally, after another trip to the dentist ending in being told one son had a soft spot that would eventually turn into a cavity, I asked the hygienist why it was happening in spite of our efforts. She said something that made the light bulb go off. She said that some kids just have that bacteria in their mouths. I immediately started both kids on a really good probiotic. When we returned to the dentist, the soft spot was gone, and we haven’t had a cavity since. I’m a believer!

That makes so much sense doesn’t it?!

Why do you think this can help, Kelly?
KitchenKop says
Hi Jamil,
Good probiotics (or probiotic-rich foods) along with a diet high in other nutrient-dense foods, especially healthy fats, cod liver oil, mineral-rich broths, etc., can heal the gut, build up the immune system and help the body HEAL itself.
