You'll love this Homemade Beer Bread with Crispy Roasted Garlic Dipping Oil

Want to impress your guests one of these days or even your own family?  This recipe will do it!  It's also easy to make for part of a quick meal with some grilled meat and maybe some fruit or veggies and it's *really* yummy.

I've always loved beer bread and of course wanted to find an easy version without any junky ingredients, so I combined a few recipes and came up with this one.  The garlic dipping sauce was a big hit with the kids because to them, especially when they were younger, any type of “dip” is its own food group anyway.  🙂

Homemade Beer Bread

Servings: 1 loaf

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour – I use all-purpose einkorn flour
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons aluminum-free baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar or honey
  • 12 oz. beer of your choice – darker beers give it a unique flavor, lighter beers are more mild
  • 6 Tablespoons melted butter (for the top) + more for buttering the pan

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375*.
  • Mix everything together except the butter, then pour into greased/buttered bread pan.  Bake on a baking sheet (to prevent the bottom from getting too done) for 50-60 minutes at 375* or until top feels firm and it's lightly browned. 
  • Brush 6 Tablespoons melted butter over the top when it comes out of the oven.

Now for the delicious (optional) dipping oil…

Crispy Roasted Garlic Dipping Oil

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons ghee
  • 6 large heads of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cups Good quality olive oil or Avocado oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 1/8 cup Your favorite good quality balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian spice blend (optional)
  • 2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions

  • Melt the ghee in a cast iron pan. Add the garlic and cook over medium until garlic is golden brown (stay close by to make sure it doesn't burn--it should take about 10 minutes).
  • Once browned and crispy, add olive oil and/or avocado oil, sea salt, and any of the optional ingredients.
  • You can either let it cool or serve it immediately with fresh beer bread.

Notes

These amounts are all super flexible!

    You have to stop the advertising. A major turn off. I have seen other sites tank because you went the easy route. 5 Cheeze it ads on a health food site???? Come on, get real. You are either going to be believed or not. Way, way too many ads.

      Hi Chuck,
      Did you realize that the ads you see are based on what sites or links you’ve clicked on recently? For example this morning I was looking at faucets, so now on my site I see a bunch of different ads for faucets. It’s because of something called, “cookies”.
      Also, the ads are to cover the expensive costs of running the site. I wish I could work for free, but I can’t and I doubt you do either.

    I made this tonight with half white and half sprouted whole wheat & it was awesome! Next time, I will use a lighter ale, but it was a success! Thanks for the recipe :-).

    This looks divine! I am curious if anyone has suggestions for the best flours to make this gluten free? I wonder how much adjustment any of the other ingredients would require (eggs added, for example?).
