Even though I have a pretty big mouth, you might be surprised to learn that I don’t normally feel comfortable speaking to large groups or being interviewed…unless I’m talking about something I’m passionate about! Besides that, Jimmy is so stinkin’ easy to talk to that he made it fun. The interview was actually done back in February, and while it was obvious that I’m an amateur at all this, when I heard myself “live” I was thankful that my toes only curled a little.
Listen to the podcast.
(Thanks Jimmy!)

I don’t make bread, either, partly because I try not to eat it at all, but I end up buying Ezekiel 4:9 bread (sprouted multigrain) from time to time. Sadly, somewhere along the line they started adding sprouted soy to the mix, and some similar brands have soy or added gluten, but the Ezekiel 4:9 English muffins don’t seem to have either soy or added gluten (last time I checked, a couple of months ago). The bread freezes well and in fact is usually found in the frozen foods section. The cinnamon-raisin muffins are very tasty!

Hi Kelly,
I am SO new to your blog and SO new to healthy eating. We have a LONG ways to go, but I am researching like crazy and trying to start off small – not easy since I am the kind of person who wants it done right and wants it dont right NOW! lol
Anyway – I keep seeing that everyone is making their own breads, grinding flour, etc. This simply isn’t possible for our family at this time..I am at a loss for what we should do as far as a ‘healthy bread’ goes!?! I do have a bread machine, though it certainly isn’t anything facny – heck its probably 10 years old! Its a hand me down from my mom – who never used it. I checked the ingredients on the box of bread mix stuff – yikes! I am wondering if there is any way I can use my good old bread machine to make a healthier (I know, it would be the most healthy, but perhaps a step in the right direction) version of bread for my family? I thought of even purchasing bread from a bakery – yet I can’t find any around our area that offer any sort of good/healthy bread!?! This part has me feeling totally overwhelmed – any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Kelly

Kelly,
YES! You could easily use your bread machine to make great bread! Just take my 3-loaf bread recipe and use one third of the ingredient amounts to make one loaf and then knead it a few minutes longer than what I have down for my Bosch. I only talk about the Bosch so much because it makes everything easier and I can do more loaves at once, but you can for sure still make your own bread!
Here it is: https://kellythekitchenkop.com/2008/10/some-background-on-making-homemade.html
Hope that helps!

I agree with Jimmy, you were awesome. Your voice sounded surprisingly small, but polite, passionate and knowledgeable all at once. Who told you that you have a big mouth? Don’t believe ’em.
