How have you all been doing since January’s Weight Loss & Wellness Adventure?  I’m hoping you’ll share the latest in your journey with us in the comments.

My exercise update:

Well it’s been fairly obvious that I’m a fair-weather friend when it comes to exercising.  Lately I’ve only done my run/walks on the few days when we get some warmer winter temps (although I do love it, because it’s when I listen to my Jimmy Moore podcasts!), and the only thing I’ve done consistently is Zumba once a week.  I found some classes at the Y not far from us that looked great; they were part core work, part strength and part cardio.  I was so excited to try them, and then found out they’re only at the downtown Grand Rapids Y.  It’s not real far, but further than I wanted to traipse off to just to exercise, plus it was expensive since we’re not members.  So I decided to just do another session of Zumba and then keep trying to get my butt outside to run/walk whenever I can OR get on the treadmill – both FREE.

My grains & sweets update:

I’m still eating less grains and sweets, and getting better all the time since this seems to work well for me, but I’m definitely not at none or even low these days.  I go in streaks.  Even though I’ve got plenty of ideas on this low-carb recipes page, I got sick of planning and coming up with even more new ideas.  This is why I’m so excited about Cara’s grain-free meal plans, yes ALL grain-free ideas!  What an especially great life-saver for those of you who are doing the GAPS Diet or SCD Diet and need to stay grain-free so you can get better or maybe you’re doing it to heal your kids.  Now you don’t have to figure out what to eat all by yourselves.

It’s very affordable and here’s what you get:

  • Sign Up for Grain Free Meal PlansMenu plans for 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, plus snacks and sweets

Hi… I haven’t been doing your Wellness Adventure, but I’m 2 weeks into The Maker’s Diet 40 day thing. That’s no grains, sugars, fruit or dairy (and other things limited too). I was wondering how being completely off grains affects other women, as I seem to be more unemotional, like blah. My mom was on a Candida diet for 3 weeks and was getting depressed. Anyway, just wondering. I have lost a few lbs. but that’s not my goal as I was underweight anyway, I’m doing it for Candida (but didn’t feel up to a full on Candida diet).

I just realized these comments must have gotten lost in my website glitch last week, too……… :(

Georgia, you feel ‘blah’ as in… a bad way? Or just more *level*? That’s how it seems to work with me anyway, I level out. Less PMS symptoms, less of that feeling once a month where I get irritated easily…

Others have said it helps things become more clear, a ‘fog’ lifts. I hadn’t heard of someone getting depressed from it, unless maybe toxins are clearing out…?

Not ‘blah’ in a bad way, just kinda level, like you said. Still getting impatient with the kids though :) but I guess less of that excited about life feeling.
