The latest tech issue taunting me is my dumb router which apparently now has to be replaced. There’s probably a way to fix it but I can’t waste anymore hours trying. Good thing I’ve got all kinds of time and money to throw at this. NOT. So I’m in Kal’s room hooking up directly to the internet to get this post done and I’ll be brief since he wants to go to bed. You already know what to do anyway, and as always please REMEMBER YOUR BLOG CARNIVAL MANNERS: don’t forget a link back here in your post.
Also, don’t forget that the FREE HEALTH & NUTRITION BOOK GIVEAWAY CONTEST ends tomorrow night so be sure to enter before then.
Show us all the good stuff you have to share today by linking up your post below or adding your Real Food scoop to the comments, and pull me out of my technical blues!

Hi Kel! Happy Real Food Wednesday and as always thanks for sharing the real food love with us! My post today is a special treat for me because my dear friend Mary of The Frugal Buzz agreed to write a guest post specifically for my “on the fence” readers who say eating healthy is simply too expensive. Of course, Mary in her infinite wisdom was able to prove them wrong! There are no more excuses now!
Take care! alex
Two weeks ago, I blogged about the junk on children’s menus, which started a raging discussion about how insulting and crappy they are: http://spoonfedblog.net/2010/05/29/the-assault-and-insult-of-childrens-menus/
One chef took note and asked for parents’ input, so now I’ve blogged about that, inviting readers to help create a children’s menu that doesn’t make them cringe. And that’s what I’m posting this week.
Thanks!
The wonders of technology…..They make me “wonder” how nice it would be if it worked like it says in all the ads! This weeks post is GF Dutch Oven Chili…… Thanks for hosting!
Oh boy, sorry about the tech issues. That’s always so stressful
I’ve found a fantastic new foraged food! It tastes similar to asparagus. But unlike more common forages like asparagus or mushrooms, you probably won’t have much competition for this plant. It’s milkweed! I’m so excited to share, because it tastes fantastic!
This week’s post is about the traditional way to enjoy steak and French fries, a way that is actually good for you.
Spaghetti squash makes the perfect substitute for pasta. Check out my recipe for Baked “Spaghetti” Bolognese.
My link this week is homemade York Peppermint Patties – SO good, and only REAL FOOD ingredients of course. They were really easy to make, and my husband was convinced they had a ton of sugar in them, which of course isn’t the case.
Definitely husband-approved.
Today I provide a link to a video of me making primal coconut pancakes. I promise the next version of me making something from the primal blueprint cookbook will be a billion times better!
I’m hosting my first giveaway! I’m giving one lucky winner a set of two books that changed the way I think about food — Real Food, by Nina Planck, and Good Calories, Bad Calories, by Gary Taubes. You can enter to win for yourself or for someone you care about.
Thanks, Kelly!
Peace to you, Kelly.
Do you have a source for buying nuts in bulk at a good price?
Were making fresh Goats Cheese at Peaceful Acres! We finally have our own fresh milk and are excited about all the possibilities!
I posted about a real food restaurant in the Boston area — Stone Hearth Pizza. They use local and (some) organic ingredients have topping such as grass-fed beef! Their pizzas are absolutely delicious, and what’s more, they deliver to my door.
I share about my and my husband’s third week on the EAT FAT, LOSE FAT diet. We are both steadily losing weight eating lots of saturated fat!
Adding pepitas to you salad adds that delightful crunch with no carbs!
This week we’re covering the “why” behind detoxing. The hype out there makes detoxing look like a fad diet, but while there’s plenty of scams our there, detoxing is a real need because our bodies are often loaded with years and years of toxins.
Don’t like cauliflower? You will LOVE it now with the recipe I posted for Cauliflower Fries (With Bacon & Eggs)- Yum!!
Good morning! Just posted a recipe (my daughter’s) for Zucchini Muffins. She loves to add fillings and toppings! She is our Keeper of the Home Apprentice ~ in the Kitchen which I’ve blogged about as well. http://pebblecrossing.blogspot.com/2010/06/keeper-of-home-apprentice-in-our.html.
Thanks for hosting Kelly, i do enjoy going through other recipes/articles.

It’s scorching outside and the kombucha is done brewing. But it’s not cold and SOMEBODY put an empty ice cube tray back in the freezer without refilling it!!! Oh no! What’s a Mother to do?
Sorry for the double post! I thought I pushed stop (I always forget to put the title in the link). This week’s post is about using food as a reward: the dangers and why I’m doing it anyway right now.
Well, I posted a comment last night when I left my link, but it never showed up. So I’m giving it another try! My post is about the importance of soil diversity for health and the environment. Thanks for hosting RFW Kelly!
Today is our last day of school. As an experiment I bought my 5th grader a Lunchable…something he’s never had. I wanted to see his reaction. Check out the VIDEO on my post. It’s pretty funny.
This week I talk about my reasons for quitting caffeine, and the joy that apparently I was never that hooked on it anyway! There’s also some talk about recent food discoveries as well.
So many wonderful recipes here! This week’s edition was the result of a failed experiment, but turned out to be an incredible cereal for people who don’t eat wheat. Check it out and let me know what you think.
We’re making kombucha today on RealFood in Little Rock’s blog:

Hello to Kelly and everyone! I’m sharing a great recipe for homemade, lacto-fermented ketchup. It would be wonderful as barbeque sauce, too!
I finally wrote up my instructions for kefir! Check it out!
Hi,
I’m coming in late- sharing a post about my layered salad. Sometimes when I try to get into your website (Kitchen Kop) it won’t load & I get an error (eventually). Does this happen to other people? This is how it was for me for several hours today- seems to happen around Real Food Wednesday times- too much traffic?
