Real Food Wednesdays

This is definitely a first.  Neither Ann Marie nor I have a new post this week for Real Food Wednesday (Ann Marie is buried in other projects and I’m working on my Rookie class), but we hope you’ll share all your Real Food Wednesday tips and recipes!

Does anyone else in the GF crowd miss beef and barley soup? I used soaked short grain brown rice as a substitute for barley, and the soup came out beautifully. Of course, the grain component of the soup is only a supporting actor to the real star – homemade beef bone broth!

Thank you for hosting, Kelly!

Does anyone have a good recipe for sprouted grain tortillas? Or could recommend a brand? Posting stuff to Real Food Wednesday always makes me think about ways I could do more, ya know? ;-)

We made grapefruit jelly, an easy activity to do with kids (and a good look at how much sugar goes into it).

Hi Wendy!
I’m planning to post a recipe for those soon, but they’re with soaked, not sprouted flour. They’re pretty good, though!
I’ll try to do it soon. :)

My post this week is two-fold. First, I wanted to recommend a wonderful recipe for a Brownie Pudding Cake that my whole family enjoyed last night. Secondly, I’m asking for help in making my 5yo DS’s birthday cake. Thanks for looking and helping out a new real-food convert!

We’re not big fans of spicy food, so what to do with the chicken wings on sale from my farmer? Wings for Wimps! One recipe coming right up!

My post today is a recipe for roast chicken. It’s delicious and fancy enough to serve company.

Hi, ya’ll!

What should you look for in milk when you can’t find a raw milk pimp? ;) That’s the question we intrepidly take on today.

A fabulous week to all!

I needed to take a moment to share some thoughts about Natural Cures, the book by Kevin Trudeau.

Today’s post was inspired by having a good time at my local farmer’s market on Saturday, and wanting to boast about local businesses.

I keep forgetting to add what the blog post is about up above! D’oh…. Suggesting a deeper look at and approach to health issues that may arise in our lives. And the recipe is nut milk, for those of who can’t tolerate even raw milk products.

Thanks for hosting, Kelly!

This week we got a new batch of Maple Syrup for the season so we made pancakes. I soak the flour overnight to release the nutrients.

I posted my Liver Pâté with Cranberries and an explanation why I eat liver. The recipe is good for both SCD and GAPS diets if anyone is following those. I’m always looking for new liver recipes!

Hi Kelly – boy, I am late today! I’m having a harder and harder time getting my posts up early, but this one is about people’s reluctance and hesitancy to believe that real food and natural cures really can help our health to improve, and that old ways of growing, producing, and consuming food deserve a closer look. Happy Real Food Wednesday! :)

This is my first week Posting. I wrote about a couple of giveaways I found that helped give me some inspiration on what to do with my sourdough starter.

Conchiglie al FormaggioBaked seashells with artisan cheeses, mustard, spring onions, grape tomatoes, bits of spicy sausage and as much barely-legal raw dairy as can reasonably fit into a single recipe..

I just added a link for the first time and didn’t write the title as my name. Oops – please forgive the newbie :-)
