I used to spend a lot of time looking at mayonnaise labels, trying to decide which one was the least evil. Now, I just make mayo at home, using a yolk from a pastured egg and whatever nutritious fat I have on hand. Bacon grease makes the most delicous mayo ever! BLT, anyone?

I was having trouble getting the recommended dose of coconut oil for weight loss until I discovered a way to eat it raw and enjoy it. My secret ingredient? Why, butter, of course!

Kelly, I will leave it up to your decision to add a post to the carnival, but I have launched my own traditional foods blog, I Believe in Butter. There is not too much on the site yet, but I am going to be spending this year building both the blog and further what I do with my food.

I see many of us are talking about good fats this week! What I’m sharing is a video where I show off my new butter keeper – it keeps butter soft at room temperature without spoiling.

This week I wrote about the versatility of pancakes. I love this simple breakfast food and have found a variety of ways to modify a simple recipe in order to produce some really delicious results!

Today I wrote about an old favorite, Applesauce Buckwheat pancakes. You can even soak the flour before cooking!

My post this morning was about a natural cat litter (and the danger of regular cat litter) and since I wouldn’t recommend eating cat litter even if it is natural I had to fall back on the post I shared on Fight Back Friday – My Date with Mr. Hot Toddy – the age old natural cold fighting remedy with lemon, honey and bourbon. Enjoy! :)

I’ll be joining in on this next week. I just discovered this “meme” and am thrilled. It’s right up my alley. I tell you, I’ve been on such a journey over the past few years with food and nutrition. And have come SO far. I’ve read Michael Pollan’s books (among others), read great blogs and so forth. I saw Oprah today and my fire was re-lit. Watched Food Inc with my husband tonight and now we’re both finally on the same page. I’m all kinds of determined and fired up, to not only feed my family the best I can… but to change the way food is made by voting with my food dollar. I’m beyond excited to have found your blog recently and thank you for what you do.
