I blogged about my new trainer/holistic nutritionist, Antonio Valladares, who is BIG on traditional foods and is a member of Weston A. Price Foundation. How awesome is that! Finally someone teaching the truth about food :-)

My post today is about Steak Tartare (yup, that’s raw meat.) I’m so proud of my family. Not one person refused to try it, and many of us really liked it!

Hey Kelly,
I finally bought the stuff to make the homemade laundry detergent last night. I have only been talking about this for months now. Anyway I will be sending some your way when it is down!

I blogged abour roasting beets and using an herbed butter sauce to give them added flavor. Can’t wait to listen to the Sally Fallon podcast – will be listening to them on my way to my Natural Foods Culinary Program tomorrow – we talk about her fairly often there!

I added a post from last year on my favorite dip for getting family to eat fresh farmers market produce. It’s very timely for this time of year since our farmers market has just been open for a few weeks. (I updated it with the link and added a new post announcing the carnival.)

Oops, I forgot to remove the name of my post from last week. :) This week’s post is Make-Your-loved-Ones-Happy Breakfast for a special occasion, or if you are just feeling like you want something special for no reason. This breakfast was my Mother’s Day meal and we all loved it!

I want to make buttermilk but I am confused. It says to use “starter”
Where do I get that if you are starting from scratch?

Henriette, if I could read them all, I’m sure I would love your asparagus tips!

LN, just that they all tried it is HUGE, I think I could do that, too…maybe.

Jeanne, thank you! Can’t wait to hear how you think it cleans and try it, too.

Amy, I’ve never thought I liked beets, but I’m thinking that beets roasted with herbed butter, might make me into a convert!

Rose, that dip looks divine….

Ag Society/Raine – LOVE your tagline at your site! I found your school lunch post when I scrolled down at your homepage. :) (Tried to comment there but it wouldn’t let me.)

Thanks for joining in on RFW, everyone!

I’ve blogged my favorite healthy smoothie recipe. I generally use a combination of raw yogurt, raw kefir, raw honey, organic fruit and generally also a add pastured egg and unrefined coconut oil. It’s jammed pack with nutrition and is easy to drink first thing in the morning or throughout the day.

Today’s post? Are you being ‘localwashed’? Companies like Frito-Lay are marketing the use of ‘local’ farm producers – but just how local are they?

My post is about incorporating more superfoods into our diets to help fight against many of the vitamin and mineral deficiencies we face in our diets, even if we’re only eating Real Food.

Thanks for hosting this today, Kelly!

I was stumped on what to do today and then I linked onto HartkeisOnline and saw her great story about weight loss which inspired me since we, as a family, have recently been losing weight eating grassfed butter, meats, whole milk, grassfed meats, organic fruits and vegetables so I decided to add a more personal story: http://hiporganicmama.blogspot.com/2009/05/mama-was-right-weight-loss-processed.html

Janet, sorry it took me a bit, I had to look up the answer to your question.

You could get some starter from someone at your local Weston Price chapter meeting.

OR, you could order a starter culture from here:
