For my local readers: do you know about the Big Binder blog yet? Jen keeps you up on great deals and fun things to do around the Grand Rapids area. I subscribe to her blog so I can get updates automatically – I love this resource. She also has a cute writing style that makes me laugh. 🙂

Waaaay back in the early days of this blog, I did a post on Chipotle fast food restaurants. At that time we didn’t have one here in Grand Rapids, but I’m happy to say that now we do! (Oh dear Chipotle peeps, not to complain, but if you could also add one on the North side of GR, that would be swell…) Last week Kristen found a great video with the Chipotle founder and Joel Salatin, talking about “the pigness of a pig”, among other fun things. It is so refreshing to watch! A fast food restaurant, buying their pork from farmers like Joel Salatin – yes! There really is hope for us! (We went there tonight and I'm glad to report that it was booming in there.)

Don’t forget: if you know of some healthy restaurants in YOUR CITY, fast food, slow food, upscale, or whatever, please comment at this Healthy Restaurants post and I’ll add it to the list that I’m compiling there!
- Do you know how to make basic deviled eggs or basic egg salad? In case you don’t, I posted the recipe today. Just for you.
- Believe it or not, I don’t actually have anymore to say today. Now pick yourselves up off the floor and get your fingers ready – I want you to go to the comments and let us know a couple things: A. What was your favorite post here on the blog this past week, and/or B. What was your favorite post on another blog this week? Don’t forget to leave us a link! (The link may throw your comment into my spam folder, so I’ll try to remember to check it. If I forget, feel free to contact me with a nudge.)
Have a great week!

We went to Chipotle Monday…had been wanting to try it b/c we heard it was delicious, but last week’s Food Renegade post really made me want to go. SOOO yummy! It’s just like Qdoba, but without the poorly-raised-animal guilt. I just had to get the pork – although my husband pointed out that my darling “piggy pigs” were “yet still dead”. And delicious, thank you. The chicken was even better. 🙂

Ellie, that IS good and shocking news! Woohooo!
Charles, I’m right with ya on the raw milk. 🙂 Glad to hear you got some good traffic from Friday – Ann Marie & I (and probably others) also stumbled you along with Kristen – and we’ll do the same this week for Real Food Wednesday, so be sure to join in then, too!

OK favorite post last week at this blog was definitely the one on Baking a Whole Chicken; the Healthy Wife and I are passionate chicken lovers and this gave us a few really good ideas! Favorite post from another blog was this one from The Complete Patient: https://www.thecompletepatient.com/journal/2009/6/19/how-now-brown-cow-fast-growing-demand-drives-raw-milk-prices.html It’s GREAT news that demand for raw milk is strong and continues to increase even if that demand drives up the price; we want people to WANT RAW MILK! We pay $6.99/half-gallon at a place called Mother’s Market here in Orange County, Cal. Finally, about your offer to stumble, tweet, etc. Kristen did that for me this past Friday and let me tell you: the response has been OVERWHELMING! Andit has not died down yet! You gals at Real Food Media ROCK! Have a great week and happy blogging!

Here’s an addition to your Monday Morning Mix-up. Good news! It seems that the <a href=”https://news.prnewswire.com/ViewContent.aspx?ACCT=109&STORY=/www/story/06-17-2009/0005046061&EDATE=”AMA. “” has decided to come out in favor on sustainable farming and food practices! Just about 100 years too late, but at least they are trying to catch up. Check out the link and also the comment from James Duke at Green Pharmacy https://www.greenpharmacy.com/.
