I don’t make resolutions at New Year’s anymore, really. The most important resolution I’ve ever made in my life happened in June, so I can’t get my head around only doing these things in January. 🙂
MSG in vaccines is just scary. It wouldn’t surprise me if there wasn’t hydrogenated oil and HFCS lurking around in there, too…..
Part of our nightly ritual with the kids is listing soem things we’re thankful for. The opportunity to get real food from local farmers is always near the top of my list.

I’m thinking about resolutions. One is going to be focus less on the new and instead working with what I already have, both in terms of stuff and skills.

Emily, I heard that was a doozy!
Peggy, that is soooooooooooo neat. Thanks for sharing. I’ll shoot up a prayer for all those farmers who are struggling, too.

We’re a “say grace” family. Since we’ve been involved in our local food supply and getting to know our farmers, we have started including them in our prayers more and more. The meat farmer who had four cows struck by lightning, the dairy farmer whose entire summer water supply was lost, the vegetable farmer whose three major pieces of equipment broke within weeks of each other, and the major organic farmer in the area who came within inches of dying in an auto accident and who has required multiple surgeries and long hospital stays…these have all happened this calendar year. I consider these farmers my friends, and I pray for their trials just like I do my own family members.
But more than that, when we eat dinner now, we aren’t just eating food from the store. We are eating something that someone planted, cultivated, harvested and brought to market for us. I consider expressing our thankfulness for those people just another benefit of knowing our farmers!

Yikes! I know that vaccines are bad, but I hadn’t heard of the MSG thing!
As for Christmas stories, DH–from Louisiana–and I–from Minnesota–were privileged to be part of the first Texas white Christmas since 1926!
