It's been a rough summer, as most of you know, and there's been more sad drama this past week that I won't go into — please keep praying for my family, we're all really hurting. I've been trying to get a homeschooling update posted as some readers have requested (maybe I'll get to it this week?), but I'm not even ready to BEGIN homeschooling yet this year, and I've only got one week to go! “Everything will get done that has to get done” — that's my daily mantra…
Here's what I've found for you this week:
- Did you guys see this? Tart Cherry Juice to Help Kids Sleep {Naturally raises melatonin levels}
- Last week I posted about this breaking news on Facebook: “Dr. Thompson has admitted the 340% increase [in autism] in boys receiving the MMR vaccine ‘on time' as opposed to delayed was buried by himself, Dr. DeStefano, Dr. Bhasin, Dr. Yeargin-Allsopp, and Dr. Boyle.” Here's the article, but don't bother clicking, because first it was “under review” and now it has been removed!!! So much for the truth getting out… See the Facebook conversation here that was all abuzz.
- At least this CBS news article is still up. Thank you, CBS News, for having the guts to publish this. “The article goes on to discuss many potential vaccine-related culprits, including the increasing number of vaccines given in a short period of time. ‘What I have published is highly concentrated on hypersensitivity,' Ratajczak told us in an interview, ‘the body's immune system being thrown out of balance.'” “Ratajczak also looks at a factor that hasn't been widely discussed: human DNA contained in vaccines. That's right, human DNA…human tissue is currently used in 23 vaccines. She discusses the increase in autism incidences corresponding with the introduction of human DNA to MMR vaccine, and suggests the two could be linked. Ratajczak also says an additional increased spike in autism occurred in 1995 when chicken pox vaccine was grown in human fetal tissue.” They're talking about ABORTED babies here, guys. How? How have we all gotten so desensitized to these evils in our world?!
- Have you seen the latest Burzynski trailer?

Finally they speak up about cell phone safety! CDC Issues Precautionary Health Warnings about Cell Phone Radiation – I use a Pong radiation protective iPhone case, but my friend has also noticed a big difference in how hot her phone (and ear/head) gets with the less expensive Vortex attachment for cell phones and tablets.
- “What if depression isn’t caused by a ‘chemical imbalance' after all? More specifically, what if depression itself is not a disease, but a symptom of an underlying problem?” Considering the explosion in rates among other disorders associated with inflammation, the increasing rates of depression make perfect sense. Check out this interesting article.
- This cracks me up, in a sad sort of way, and it's not just McDonald's, obviously. Almost all fast food is disgusting… McDonalds: “A lot of our guests don’t believe our food is real.” Ya think?! Read about McDonald's latest attempt to woo real foodies here. See the conversation or share it on Facebook here.
- What do you think of this video about obesity?
- Remember that the Real Food for Rookies online class is ON SALE now for 25% off with the code: 25OFFDEAL. Now that fall is here it's the perfect time to dive in and get help in the kitchen. Click here to learn more or sign up!
- Did you know that 2 ounces of homemade sauerkraut has the equivalent amount of probiotics as a 100 count bottle of probiotics?! If you were not convinced before to begin fermenting veggies, condiments, and beverages at home, I hope you are now. See my “Ferments” Pinterest page for tons of awesome recipes for ferments. —> Or you can buy fermented vegetables online from my trusted sponsor. (My favorite is the fermented ginger carrots.) Or make your own fermented beverage by clicking here for homemade soda pop!

Aporkalypse Now — this article is not for the squeamish, but it does explain rising pork prices in supermarkets. If you don't already know your farmer(s), now is the time. Find local, responsibly-raised pork (and other meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, produce) here or here. If you don't have a local source, you can order from these guys.
- Speaking of scary meat and why you should ONLY buy meat you trust… FDA Finally Admits Chicken Meat Contains Cancer-Causing Arsenic. “And what’s the name of this manufacturer that has been putting arsenic in the chicken feed for all these years? Pfizer, of course — the very same company that makes vaccines containing chemical adjuvants that are injected into children.“ And here's a (not) shocker: Pfizer also makes cancer treating drugs. They sure know how to double up on profits. It's so infuriating, and each time anyone buys more mystery meat, you are contributing to the problem! Spend your food dollars wisely!
Have a great week!

Kundsen, Santa Cruz Organic, Natural Brew Naked Juice, Odwalla and After the Fall are all owned by major corperations that spend mega Buck$ to defeat GMO labeling. I boycot all of these and ask others to do the same. Check out the information below.
Knudsen’s parent company is The J.M. Smucker Company. Knudsen’s marketing does not associate themselves with the parent company.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R.W._Knudsen_Family
(I believe this is because of deception – they want you to believe Kundsen stands for something other profit for the parent company.) Although, some packaging displays a small SQB marking. SQB denotes Smucker Quality Beverages, the internal unit of The J.M. Smucker Co. that includes Knudsen, Santa Cruz Organic, Natural Brew, and After the Fall.
Naked Juice Co. Of Glendora, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Pepsico, Inc.

Odwalla was acquired by The Coca-Cola Company in 2001 for US$181 million and became a wholly owned subsidiary.

Lakewood is an Independent Family Juice Company

Hi Kelly, Do you have to start school next week? Can you gradually begin with a few subjects and add some more as time goes by? I too often feel the pressure to stay with the local school schedule. We had to do it differently this year because we have some MAJOR changes coming our way in the spring. It is one of the benefits of homeschooling. You tailor it to what the needs of your family might be. All of you have had a rough summer and maybe delaying or slowly beginning is what all of you need.

Hi Sarah,
I thought about that, but our kids are blessed with SO many friends within a couple of blocks, that we pretty much have to stick to the school’s schedule because there’s no catching up any other time if the neighbor kids are around. It’s OK, though, I’ll get there…
