Good morning readers, today I need to ask for your prayers as there was a terrible accident involving two of our loved ones on Thanksgiving night. That's all I'll say in order to protect their privacy, but I did want to share this… As much as I rant about the way doctors treat chronic disease and how ineffective that whole part of the medical industry is, when it comes to trauma they are AMAZING. They've got a pretty darn good track record when it comes to bedside care and compassion as well, based on events in recent days and also in past years when family members were patients. So if ever you're reading my blog and you hear me go on and on again about how too many meds are prescribed, how pathetic their idea of “nourishment” is, and how the healthcare field is often only making people sicker, just know that I'm not making widespread statements–many of them are doing a great job and I'll be forever thankful for what I've seen them pull off in the past few days, along with what has to have been a lot of help from above. (Thank you Lord!)
So needless to say, today's post will be short as I'm heading back to the hospital soon for another turn of night duty, which I'm feeling very very blessed to be able to do. It's been a rough few days, so please say a prayer for their full healing and for all of the family, that they'll feel Jesus' peace and strength. Thank you!
Just a few quick links and reminders for you:
- Have you seen this one? The True Cause of Heart Disease.
- Doing any Amazon Christmas shopping soon? If you click through to shop through this Amazon link I'd be super grateful as it helps me with expenses from running this site. (Thanks!)
- I'm making these Double Chocolate Raspberry bars to take to the hospital with me and also for a Mom/Daughter dinner we have tomorrow. If you love sweet and tangy together you'll have to try them!
Have a great week!

Your family is in my prayers! My mother-in-law ended up in the hospital on Thanksgiving day, in this case the doctors were not at all helpful and they can’t really say what’s wrong with her. Something with her heart (father-in-law passed away from heart attack two months ago). We were pretty scared at the thought of loosing her too. We’re trying to do what we can for her naturally, I got her on Cod Liver Oil to reduce inflammation and probiotics because they gave her antibiotics and said it’s a possible infection.

I will be praying for your family too. And I know what you mean about the medical industry. We rarely go to the doctor but last year I was so very thankful for modern medicine when my son’s appendix ruptured.

Father in Heaven, I would like to ask for Your strength for all of the family members that are involved with the support care for Shane and Hailee. I ask that Your presence would continue to be felt by them. I ask for Your protection for Shane and Hailee and all family members that during this time of stress they would remain healthy. Please give doctors and family members wisdom on healthcare decisions and best course of treatment. In the name of Jesus Christ I praise and thank You, Amen

I will be praying for Shane & Hailee, as well as all of their friends and family. I was in a serious accident less than 3 years ago and the trauma staff was AMAZING. God is good, not only did I beat the odds and live, I am walking and able to live independently. All of those things were in doubt once. I will be praying for comfort and relief for Shane, and especially little Hailee.

Thank you all so much who have said that you are praying!
My sister-in-law saw my post today and has asked me to share a little more with you so you can pray for them by name. Our nephew, Shane, is 27 and his almost 3 year old daughter, Hailee, was with him when they were hit on Thursday evening. It is truly a miracle from God that they are still alive.
Thanks again everyone!

Kelly, you all have my prayers, too. What a blessing it is to live here where we have such skilled trauma care. Before being a SAHM, I worked in the ER (in Saginaw before moving here) on the trauma team. For the most part, everyone on the team was very kind, compassionate, and kept the human element when working with the patient as well as with the families. I am so happy to hear you had an impressive experience here. As the years go by, it seems people in this world are getting colder & less “human.” Your post gives me a ray of sunshine for humanity, especially in the medical field. I pray that you continue to see great care being given to your loved ones, that they heal & recover quickly, and that you all (as well as hospital staff) are surrounded by the Holy Spirit.
