My Mom isn't doing well guys. She's going downhill so fast that we're all still trying to get our brains around it. 🙁 I'm with her a lot (along with my siblings and Mom's army of friends), which is right where I need to be, and thankfully my hubs and good friends are keeping things running smoothly at home. I can't tell you how thankful I am for my siblings (we've always been close and that helps right now SO much), and for all our family and friends who are stepping in and showing their love in a zillion ways. Life is so precious, and if you've been in this situation you know that support right now just means more than words can cover. Mom is going to give treatment a go, so we're praying it just gives us a little more time with her.
Earlier in the week I got a few things pulled together for today's post (mostly stuff I saw on Facebook), here we go…
- The below pic is from my Facebook page last week. There are several reasons for why it's true. One of the biggies is the cheap, low-quality oils used for cooking and food prep in restaurants and the processed food industry. With extremely few exceptions they are damaged from heavy industrial processing (chemical solvents, high heat and pressure, oxidized, bleached, deodorized), polyunsaturated (hello, inflammation and transfats formed by cooking), and GMO (hello, Roundup). By cooking your own food, YOU can choose your cooking fats and oils to be natural, health-promoting and nutritious. Click here to find out which oils and fats work FOR your health and which ones to steer clear of.
- Speaking of Facebook, don't forget to go to my page, and next to the ‘like' button, click the drop down thingy and select “get notifications” otherwise FB plays games and doesn't let you see my stuff!
- Here's one from Kristen: Is Chipotle Misguided? Read my comment there and see if you agree?
- I'm not even much of a dog person, but this is absolutely precious:
- Thank you Peggy for sharing this: No More Tooth Fillings?
- Don't these frozen banana bites from Keeper of the Home look SOOOOO yum? Frozen Banana Bites: The Perfect Summertime Treat!
- Another good pic from FB last week:
- Doesn't this rile you up? And just what are those other 13 ingredients anyway (besides GMO oil, potatoes, salt, and dimethylpolysiloxane)? Instead, here's my recipe for good-for-you fries you can easily make at home!
- The wait is over. Nina Planck's new cookbook is hot off the press — check it out here!
- Reasons to avoid the Farmers market (satire) — Flip these around, and they are all why I love farmers markets!
Have a great week everyone, and please pray for my Mom…

Father in heaven, I bring this sweet family to You and I ask in the name of Christ Jesus for your grace and mercy and love to come upon them. I am glad that this mother is so loved and cared for by her family, but they all need Your strength now as they face this time in their life when one that they love is in such need. I know You will help them as they look to You, so I thank You for all that You will do.

Kelly, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this hard time. It is never easy, but hold onto your faith and God will see you through. Not only that, He just might allow something miraculous to occur. I’ve had two very close family members pass from cancer in the past 5 years and both were incredible as God was most definitely there both times! As you walk this journey, remember all the good things and trust the Lord for all things. May Christ be with you closely during this time. Hugs.

Kelly,
I am so sorry to hear of your moms ills. Ever since I heard about it I can’t help but think about it/you often. If you have time (and I hope and pray that you will) Please go to the http://www.healthfreedom.com website for Essiac Tea. This is what I would have my friends and family, and myself take if we were to get that horrible “C”.
Take care, and you and your family are in my constant prayers.

I was saddened to hear about your mom’s condition. Several years back, my mom had cancer and we took the traditional chemo and radiation therapy which weakened her body and especially her kidney. But the cancer was still there and spreading. We then found out about earth’s aloe aloe vera capsules which are supposed to be very potent. They have live customer support when you call them and will give you testimonials and support for therapeutic doses over the phone. Amazingly, the aloe vera indeed made a huge difference and within a month she went back and no traces of cancer tumors were found! However the damage to her kidneys was too great an obstacle to overcome and she did pass. I just wanted to share this as we wish we would have tried this approach before the chemo. But whatever decision, I also will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Are you familiar with the Gerson Therapy? If not, it may be worth a call to them. Charlotte Gerson is carrying on the work of her father, Dr. Max Gerson. My father used this therapy for his cancer. All the best to you and your family. Jessica

I am thinking of you, your mom, and family. My step-dad passed away from cancer in 2005. It is a viscious disease. But we know tat God is our Ultimate Comforter. I pray that you will feel His loving arms around you and know how very much He loves you and your mom.

Sorry to hear that your mother is not doing well. We went through a similar experience a year ago when my mother had a massive hemorrhagic stroke, but survived only to loose much of herself as the brain cells died and shrunk a few months later where the bleed occurred. We still have her, but her quality of life is minimal to where she must be cared for 24/7 in a facility. After experiencing the system of care available I can tell you that the system is broke and it is a struggle to get proper care in a system that is understaffed and underfunded by its owners. We make sure she has a visitor every day for company and that she is properly cared for, but she is still unhappy there. I do not mean to make this post about our experience, but I wanted you to know you are not alone in this emotional draining sadness. It is very taxing on the family as well and it is good that you all are pulling together. You will be in my thoughts and prayers for the strength and guidance as you care for her and each other.

Ya’ll are in my prayers, Kelly.

Dearest Kelly,
I’m praying for you and your family. I understand how important it is to be with family at this time of life. My mother fell and broke both arms in December, my mother and father were admitted to the hospital and then were admitted to a health care facility, my father died in January, my mother was released from the health care facility in February and I’ve been living with her since then while my husband lives next door. Unfortunately, my brother is not helping. What we do for our family is fueled with God’s strength.
Live in God’s strength and rest in His peace.
