  • See if you’re as impressed with this article on raw milk safety as I was.  As I said in my post on raw milk safety issues, yes, there’s always a chance you could get sick when eating raw foods.  But raw milk is no different than raw produce, and you’re not going to start cooking every fruit or vegetable you eat are you?  If so, you’ll be cooking away most of the nutrients.  It’s the same with milk.  This is how I look at it:  the biggest thing is being careful when choosing a farm to buy your raw milk from, and then I rest easy knowing that while there’s teeny tiny chance of a bug getting in there, there’s a 100% chance of getting a super-charged serving of nutrients every time you drink it that will build up your immune system and help keep you healthy.  (Want to read more on raw milk?  Here’s a list of all the raw milk posts.)  I’d love to hear what you guys think about all this.
  • New GIVEAWAY coming tomorrow for cod liver oil

  • Did you hear about this virtual baby shower?  What a cute idea!
  • Have you seen this story at my other blog about the man with no arms or legs?  It makes me feel small for complaining about the little things.  Also, it’s not too late to add your prayer request to the Prayer Project.

    popper

If there’s a small appliance you’ve been thinking about getting, you may want to check the prices at Amazon right now because I just found out they’re having a sale on certain items:

Amazon Sale:  25% off small appliances

I see a popcorn popper on that page, though, and wanted to tell you that the one there is made of aluminum, so don’t get that one.  The one I use looks the same, but is made of stainless steel.  I just got rid of the link to the stainless steel popcorn popper at my Popcorn Recipe post because that one was always out of stock, but just found this same popper that I love, also from Amazon, for much less than the cheapest I could find it before:

Back to Basics Stainless-Steel Stove-Top Popcorn Popper

    What’s your favorite kitchen appliance?

Menu Plan Monday – What We *Really* Ate

    July 12, 2010

A couple weeks ago I joined in for the first time on this huge-mongo blog carnival called, “Menu Plan Monday”. Kent came home that day and said sarcastically, “Gee honey, are we having Mexican Lasagna tonight?” He’d read my post at work and thought he knew what was up for dinner, ha! When I said, “Nope”, his response was, “What?! Your post is a big farce!” So I decided to do this as a follow up, what we really ate that week…

    July 5, 2010

Look What Was On My Front Porch (Also, A Chocolate Fondue Recipe)

    November 25, 2009

I was told these are *amazing* dipped in chocolate, so if you know me, you know I had to try that. My chocolate fondue dipping sauce doesn’t have to make you feel *quite* as guilty about eating a treat, though, because it has a few more nutritious ingredients than your average dessert… (Yes, natural sugars are still sugar, though, so don’t make this a lot. I say that all the time and keep posting dessert recipes, don’t I?)

Kettle Corn with Coconut Oil – A *Good* Fat That We All Need More Of!

    October 26, 2009

Kettle Corn is much easier than caramel corn, and has much less sugar too, but is just as good…maybe better because of the tasty salty/sweet blend of flavors…you’ll love it!
