Hey reader friends, this is a super quick post I’m throwing up to ask you to help us put pressure on the DeVos Children’s Hospital to drop the horrific case against the Stieler family. Here’s my post on the whole story from last week. I’ll be posting more shocking details about the case this next week, but for now, will you please go to this Facebook post and add your comments and help us to pressure the DeVos Children’s Hospital to DROP this case?! It affects us all, because if ever we disagree with a doctor on what care our child should receive, they could come after US! As you can see there is loads of support there for the Stieler family, and with your help, we can get the hospital to make the nonsense STOP.
Thank you so much, my awesome readers, I love you guys!
Kelly
p.s. I’m having a great weekend, I’ll tell you all about the fun stuff I got to do on Monday. For now, I’m supposed to be at a neighbor party, but I snuck out to put this post up. Shhhhh

I completely sympathize with them. Becasue of my religion, we choose not to accept blood transfusions. We do however work with doctors regarding other blood choices. My friends child was rushed to the hospital in need of a blood transfusion and the hospital, by law, gave the child the transfusion without the parents approval. It was considered parent neglect because it was regarding a child. I get that those who don’t believe in this wouldn’t understand but there are medical and biblical reasons for this. I feel for this families pain. Thanks for this post!
If you have a recipe newsletter I would like to receive it please.
Watch tomorrow’s post!
I read your original post about this family and I wrote to the governor in an email. I never got a response back like you did.
Thank you for doing it, though!
Kelly, I have to tell you I am very frustrated about all these issues that are going on today. When the Michael Schmidt thing was going on I emailed the premier everyday. The longer it went on the more I was convinced that he wasn’t listening or caring. Even though he eventually did meet with Michael Schmidt, it changed nothing. I received an email from someone who spouted the same old tired lies about raw milk, blah, blah, blah.
I keep writing to my congressmen. I write to whoever you say to write to. I read about all the horrible things happening around the country (raw milk raids, anyone?) All it does is upset me. All the authority figures are overstepping their boundaries and it’s just getting worse. There are some who post in comments that we need to start a revolution. I’m wondering what exactly do they have in mind. Others say whoever is in office now, vote them out. Yet, they keep getting re-elected. How will anything ever change? What is it going to take to get these people to listen to us? Ok, thanks for letting me rant.
I hear you………… Rant here anytime.

I’ve always assumed that if the “worst” struck our family I’d seek alternative therapies . . . and then I met Jim Navarro at the WAPF conference and found out I wouldn’t even be given that choice as a parent! It is infuriating and wrong. Thank you for bringing awareness to this, Kelly. (I left a mssg on the DeVos FB page and will do more when the kids go down for their nap)
I do not belong to FB and don’t intend to. Is there some way those of us who aren’t at FB can help? I’m not sure someone from another State would carry much weight with writing to any of your State officialbozo’s, but maybe the hospital/doctorbozo’s??
If you’ve posted any of the hospital contact info elsewhere I didn’t see it – haven’t had much time on the computer lately. If you could give it again that would be great. Or, just direct me to where it’s posted. I will be writing a real letter (on paper with a pen, believe it or not) so a physical address would be required.
We are all losing freedoms daily, at the speed of sound. It’s sad, scary and downright disgusting all at the same time. It’s getting to the point of becoming ridiculous, not to mention ludicrous and bordering on evil.
Thanks for posting this article, Kelly. Too few people with compassion these days and the medical industry is amongst the worst of the bunch.
Thank you for asking, we need MANY who will be willing to write “real” letters – I’m posting addresses later this week.

Kelly…..
I find many things so wrong with this sad case. The one that I want to address with you because I don’t see anyone else making the connection, is that the DeVos family is a part of most all of the national level lobbying groups that are systematically going around the country, from state to state, pushing forth model legislation that favors education reform in the name of “Parental Empowerment and Choice!” To now hear of this story where parents do not seem to have any choice, let alone empowerment, in the medical treatment of their son’s health is disturbing at best!
I will indeed send a letter to Governor Snyder asking about this specifically! Thanks for keeping people informed and for fighting the good fight!
