Today’s Monday Mix-Up will be short because I already feel like I’m bombarding you with posts on the 2011 Weight Loss & Wellness Adventure, and by the way, that link is to the new main post that will have links to all the new posts on that topic.  That way if you miss any, you can find them there easily.  Be sure to go there to see what you missed from Saturday if you haven’t been over there yet.

Which reminds me, did anyone start exercising yet?  Anyone else have muscles screaming for mercy like I do with every step…every move…?  Just curious.

Here are just a few things I wanted to share with you today, though…

  • Don’t forget:  today is the last day you can use the coupon code RFM20 to get 20% off all these great Real Foodie goodies like meal plans or recipe cards from Jenny, e-books or audio books from Kristen, and my Real food for Rookies class, Real Food Ingredient Guide, or nutrition consultations!
  • coffeechallenge-badge-300 On top of the 2011 goals I’m making as part of the Wellness and Weight Loss Adventure, I’m also doing something at the same time that may end up being not too smart…Kristen’s Caffeine Challenge.  Click to find out more and sign up.
  • Sarah had an interesting post up last week:  A Better Way to Drink Your O.J.
  • RealFoodWednesdaysThat’s it, I’ll see you here later this week for Real Food Wednesday! (Did you know that participating is a great way to get more traffic to your blog?)

Today is day 1 for on cutting out carbs. After the 3 weeks I plan on adding back in fruits and starchy veggies. Today was hard and I’m STARVING. I ate 3 hard boiled eggs for breakfast, almonds for a snack, leftover meat with carrots and broccoli and some cheese for lunch, more almonds, and dinner was baked chicken and steamed green beans. I drank 3 cups of milk and lots of water. We still have carbs in the house because DH will not do without bread (he loves my homemade bread) and my son takes his lunch to school. I could go devour the pantry right now. LOL My questions are….How long does it take for you to feel better without the carbs? What do you do when you’re so hungry you could eat a whole loaf of bread? I know I can do this. I’ve already cut all sodas and caffeine out months ago, but I think this may just be harder. Thanks for any advice!

    Kristi,
When you’re still hungry, just eat more healthy fats with whatever you’re having, then you’ll feel full longer. I love frying an onion or 1/3 or so of a cabbage in a huge amount of butter. Either of those are a tasty snack.

You gave me an idea though…I think I’ll post what I’ve been eating on Thursday…

    Hang in there!
