There is a lump in my throat as I write this because I am so excited to share the news…
This year at the Wise Traditions Conference Awards dinner, Sally presented three very deserving women with the Weston Price Activism award for their efforts in spreading the message of Weston A. Price…
Two of them include my friend, Sarah, who is also a fellow Real Food Media blogger, and the super-sweet Maureen Diaz who I enjoyed getting to know more this weekend. Congratulations girls and thank you for all you do!
I hope those two don’t mind, though, that I want to share why I was especially thrilled about the next winner:
Ann Marie and I have been through a lot together and I’m thankful for our friendship. She is a smart blogger, internet marketer and businesswoman who has helped me grow and build a successful blog, and I am only one of many whom she has helped in similar ways. I was with her in late 2008 at the
Diedre Currie Festival when she began Real Food Media (I’m proud to have been the first RFM blogger!), and I’ve been with her through many of the learning bumps in the road that any new company goes through. I’ve seen firsthand the time and commitment she has put into RFM and her Cheeseslave blog, and I also know firsthand how passionate and deeply committed she is to getting the truth out about the wisdom of the Weston Price Foundation principles. What’s neat about this is that it all leads back to one thing: she loves helping others be well and doesn’t settle for doing anything small. I’m thrilled that she has been recognized in this way. Congratulations, Ann Marie, and THANK YOU for your leadership, your encouraging and giving attitude, and especially for your friendship!

What wonderful news Kel! Thanks so much for sharing it with those of us who were unable to come and share in all the fun and wonderful information at the conference! Congrats as well to sarah and the other award winners! Whoo hoo! Looking forward to hearing all about the conference and any great information you gleaned from your time there! Hope your presentation went well too! All the best and big hugs. Alex
Random question : How/where can you buy raw milk in Ohio? My sister, who lives there, says she cannot buy it because it is illegal. Any tips for me to pass on to her?
My sister lives in Ohio. Yes it is illegal to buy raw milk in Ohio. But what you can do is buy a part of a cow and you get the raw milk from it. You buy how many shares per how many quarts/gallons you want weekly.
There is a list of farmers here

Or you can call you local WAPF leaders, here is the directory http://www.westonaprice.org/chapters/, which is the route I would take.

Elizabeth,
Please have her contact me. I am in Ohio and I know of places to buy it. Depending on where she is (I am in Central OH) she could even join our coop.
WOOT WOOT!!! What great news Kelly! Thank you so much for tweeting and facebooking this weekend! It was so much fun following. I’m totally praying to be able to join you ladies next year as it’s in Dallas! Have a great week!
Such a wonderful post! Nice to hear the story of how Real Food Media began. Congrats to all the award winners. I only wish I could have been there to share in the joy!
Thanks for posting, Kelly!

Thanks Kelly, loved hearing about your weekend. Sounds like you had a lot of fun!
Dallas is a 6 hour drive YEAH! I am going to plan on next year for sure
I think I will plan on taking the hubby too, I think he would benefit from hearing all of it so that he would be even more supportive of our choices. Would that kind of a weekend count as a 2nd honeymoon? Not sure my hubby would think so. Are there many men there?
Kris
There are lots of men here but the ones that are really into the movement are probably enjoying it the most. Depends on how close he is to “getting it” – if he’s close, then this could be just the thing!
Congrats to all three ladies – Ann Marie, Sarah, and Maureen! That’s really wonderful. I’ll echo my thanks to you, Kelly, for all the tweeting you did over the weekend – it was so awesome to read your updates throughout.
Hope to make it to Dallas next year, too!
Awesome! Those are three of my favorite ladies to hear from in the blogosphere.
Yay! I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to finally meet all of you awesome people and bear witness to it, but damn we are getting there!
Incidentally I do love the new site design.
Yes we are Soli, I wish u couldn’t been there because it was palpable! Save for DALLAS!
I’m writing from phone in airport & it’s auto-correcting my spelling but not well! I meant could’ve been there!
Oh I promise I know what you meant.
Ha! We shall see where fate takes me in the next year. It’s looking more and more likely that I will be graduating in May.
Wonderful news, and well-deserved by Ann Marie and the others. Thanks for sharing. Wish I could have been there with you! Maybe next year.
Thanks Kelly for letting us feel a part of the conference through you and your Twitter feeds …..
Dallas, hmmm…..now perhaps we can meet up there.
Hugs.

Yay, yay, and yay! I was so excited for these ladies to get their awards, so hard-working and deserving of their recognition. And I’m excited about what’s to come in the future for real food and Real Food Media in general. The goosebumps were in full force Saturday, I’m sure, for everyone! Thanks for sharing this post Kelly!
Hearty congrats to the three winners and a ditto on the thanks to you for all of your hard work, too!
