Hanging around this weekend at the Wise Traditions conference with all these amazing blogging friends has a lot of advantages. A big one is the new ideas you get when things are being thrown around in the group, and when I lamented that I really wanted to do something different for my upcoming 1000th post, Sarah had a unique idea. I told her I didn’t know if it would fly or not, but I’ll give it a shot…
On the exact day of my 1000th blog post, and I’ll only say that it’s coming up sometime in the next few days, I will choose someone to win a free 30 minute phone chat with me about any old thing you’d like to gab about. This could be a free nutrition consultation, it could be just talking about my personal life (I’m an open book, although a boring one), how I do this or that with the blog, or anything at all.
Here’s how to get however many entries and chances to win as you choose:
Leave a NEW comment below for EACH entry option you do, and also comment to tell me if you already did any of these below, and you’ll still get an entry.
- Tell me if you have a favorite Kitchen Kop post from these past 3 years.
- Get a bonus entry if your favorite post is from my first year of blogging in 2008. (My writing still isn’t great, but ooooo-weeee some of those early posts were really baaaad… Sorry reader friends!)
- Sign up for my free Kitchen Kop Newsletter. (Don’t worry, I don’t send out updates too often because overloaded inboxes stress me out, too.)
- Sign up to subscribe to free blog updates via email or RSS.
- Follow me on Twitter.
- I’d love it if you would follow me on Facebook, but I can’t give an entry for that due to their silly rules.
- Blog about this post with a link here.
- Email 5 friends about this post with a link here.
- Stumble this post.
Remember you don’t have to do them all, you can just do one if you don’t care how many entries you get.
If you really don’t want to chat it up for a half hour, no worries, just humor me with a few comments, eh?
I’ll give some sort of a discount code on a kitchen/nutrition phone consultation for anyone who doesn’t win (or again, we could chat about whatever), but keep in mind that I probably won’t start making appointments until January so we can get through the Christmas season first.
Lastly, try saying “1000th Post” out loud, seriously, it’s not easy.

Hmmm… I’m new to your blog, but it’s still hard to choose a favorite post, they’re all really helpful! I think I’ll cheat a little and go with your complete list of recipes post.
Hi Katie! Glad you’re here.
I follow you on Twitter.
I “like” you on FB.
I subscribe to your feed.
I am in Kel, but you know, if I win, you are totally gonna be on the phone for at least 2 hours! Congratulations on your 1000th post of wonderful fun and real food goodness! I will be sharing this great celebration and giveaway on my thoughts on friday link love at a moderate life this week! big hugs! Alex
2 hours sounds like fun to me Alex!

I subscribe to your feed.
I receive your newsletter too.
I think my favorite post was the video of you shopping (with your son filming you). Both funny, personable and informational, which sums up this blog rather well.
I’ll have to tell Kal that!!
I already subscribe to your feed.
-”Lastly, try saying
I love all your Friday flops – it’s so nice to know that these wonderful people we “idolize” (OK, strive to be more like them) are just normal people, too. I also love how I can pop a phrase in your search box and almost always get some good info on what I need. Since, you know, I was afraid of you for a long time. :>) (Note to self – after finishing this comment, go search for “cough” – even whisky isn’t helping!) Here’s looking forward to the next 1,000!
You’re a sweetheart Lenetta!
I already subscribe. Congratulations on your 1000th post!
I cannot possibly choose a favorite post! I will say though that the ones that really convicted me in the beginning were the research-based ones. I love your laymen explanations backed by links of research – or that you would call companies and investigate. Your blog is a good “go to” site to direct others who need basic info, whether it’s plastics, raw milk, additives, or whatever.
You changed my life, you know! Seriously. It was a pivotal moment in my health journey when I first found your blog.
Awww, thanks for being such a loyal reader, Beth!
I suscribe to your blog.
I suscribed to your newsletter.
I liked your post about the conversation you had with the nurse at your ped’s office about vaccinations. You go girl!
I RSS you.
I am a fairly new reader as well. But I really enjoyed the post about chicken feet stock! I don’t think I would touch them either. I even asked my farmer this weekend for some, he said he has to sneak them from the processor because the inspectors don’t like them to take them. And he does give them away!
I just suscribed to your twitter.
I tried to stumble upon you, but not sure how to do that! I signed up but couldn’t figure out a way to find you. I am technically challenged!
WOW – 1000th is hard to say – keeps coming out 100th! But I did it.
I really enjoyed the Dave Ramsey & Real Food post.
I subscribe to your blog updates.
I really like your Rookie Tips, for people like me, trying to find a good place to start when it all seems overwhelming and too difficult and expensive to try to eat healthier! You inspire me to continually change more and more.
I can’t remember if I found you or Sarah first, but I found both of you because of the time you “almost had a butter fight”. That’s still my favorite post – it addresses one of my biggest problems (eating well in real world situations that I have little/no control over), it makes me laugh AND cry (I totally tear up when you agree to take him the raw milk and take other REAL FOOD for him!), and it shows how to kindly but firmly deal with people who buy into the low-fat “food pyramid” hype. I do subscribe, so I see all the new posts, but I admit that I haven’t had the time to dig too deeply through your earlier posts, but I might just go back through a few more now and see if I can find a new favorite.
I like too many of your posts to choose just one, but I propose post 1000 will be my favorite!
I do follow you on twitter.
I follow the rss feed.
I am also already on your mailing list.

I think my favorite post lately was your fluoride post where you showed the pictures of Kal’s teeth. It really opened my eyes to the dangers of fluoride. A few years ago my city voted on whether to fluoridate our water or not and my response was, “Doesn’t everybody fluoridate their water? Why would you not?” After reading that post I now feel much more informed on fluoride and why I shouldn’t have voted for that ballot item. Oh, well, live and learn right?
I stumbled this post.
Hi Kelly!
I think this is an AWESOME giveaway!! I would love to chat with you, and even if I don’t win, I’m planning to come to next year’s conference, so I hope I’ll get to meet you and chat then
When I first found your blog, I found all the vaccination posts the most interesting, because I wasn’t new to real food, but I was new to being a parent. It really is hard, though, to pin down one favourite post…
Congratulations on your 1000th post! What an amazing milestone.
Cheers,
Shannon
P.S. Anyone know when the 2011 conference dates will be announced?
Hi Shannon, I think it’s always the 2nd weekend in November.
Congrats on your 1000 post! I follow you via email.
I also get your newsletter.
One of many favorite posts is when you went to Lubbers to check out the raw milk sceen. From that post I began my raw milk journey. – So, thanks!
I agree with everyone above…it’s hard to pick one favorite since I take something big or small away each time I read your posts. I did probably share the Dave Ramsey one the most though! Congrats!!
I get your newsletter.
I follow via email.
And regardless of the silly fb rules, I follow there as well!
I loved the baked oatmeal recipe you shared a while back!
