Don’t you guys think it’s dumb that they air the Superbowl on a Sunday every year?  Even I might get into the fun of a Superbowl party if it was on a Friday or Saturday night.  I don’t get it.  Is there a good reason for this?  You’d think their ratings would be through the roof (even more than they are now) if it wasn’t on a work night, but what do I know.

This will be just a short and sweet post with a couple links to help you if you’re planning to have people over or if you need to take an appetizer with you for a party:

Have fun and be safe everyone!  :)

The boss here is from Indiana. If the Colts win the Superbowl, we get Monday off! How nuts is THAT?? (And this is coming from someone who was totally caught up in Orange Crush in Denver. I lived and breathed the Superbowl in ‘77.) I still love the Superbowl, although now I leave the room during the game and come running in for the commercials!

There will be one commercial you don’t want to miss this year – Tim Tebow’s!

I’m so excited about that one! How can I be sure to catch that without watching the whole boring game? Maybe on YouTube later, eh?!

I was thinking of youtube also because I’m not going to sift through the entire game to see the commercial.
My lentil soup recipe always goes over well at parties. I make chees casadias to go along with it.

kelly, these are amazingly good.

I’m sure they could be NT adapted. Also, when I made them, I sliced the bacon strips in thirds, and then cut each mini-strip of bacon in half again to make a skinny strip to wrap around each piece of pineapple (I used 2 cans of pineapple.) Also, to the brown sugar, I added: ancho chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, red pepper, black pepper & salt and just rolled the wrapped chunks in it to coat.

These were so good, that I wish I had made about 3-4 times as many as I did. They disappear REALLY fast!

Those are going to blow my low-carbing right quick, they DO look SOOOO good!!

I think I’ll try to adapt them like you said, thanks!

The snacking is one of the best parts of the super bowl!

Uh, oh. Sorry, Kelly. I’m not a low-carber, so my brain doesn’t think that way. I have four little pasta/bread/rice-loving boys that I’m not sure I could afford to keep full without at least some carbs. I wasn’t trying to throw you off the wagon. Those are really good, though!! ;-)

I’m definitely a salty/sweet/spicy fan, so these really did the trick for me.

Don’t forget the Non-Refried “Refried” Black and Pinto Beans Bean Dip. It’s a crock pot recipe and, oh heavens, is it yummy.
