I love this book, it's been in my library for awhile now, it's got so much great practical information and advice... and also some very disturbing facts and statistics. I use it a lot and recommend it to everyone I know. So much truth, but it' s very disheartening to know that most people won't take her advice or heed her research. I also love the nutritional therapy discipline - it's really what got me back into a healthful state after living a terrible lifestyle for so many years. I love nutritional therapy because at it's roots is the philosophy of eating traditional, nutrient dense foods and bringing your body back into balance with nutritional supplements that are whole-foods based.

I found Crazy Makers a few years before I found Nourishing Traditions--I think Carol originally published that in about 1999 or so. I point that out because although she doesn't say everything, the version I read is nearly 10 years old now and as a mainstream book I am sure she had to skirt the edge of what could be said. Over all I think this is a very well researched book and one I still rely on in my library.

(Wow, my public library has this book!)

This sounds like good reading, and good reminders about the processed "food" industry.

Thanks for the book review! This sounds like an excellent book to recommend to all those friends and family members who need convincing, but who think I'm going off the deep-end! It sounds as though it will convincingly lead them toward the "radical"/traditional concepts I've come to embrace. Well done!
