I’ve got a couple good posts to pass along to you today about Halloween candy and healthier Halloween options.

1. Mark Sisson: Healthy Halloween – he’s got some GREAT ideas here, hopefully it’s not too late for you to use some of them.

2. Cheeseslave: Very Scary Halloween Candy – Ann Marie has some info on the candy that you’ve all probably been hearing about in your email box. I’ve gotten no less than 10 emails about it, what about you?

I take my son trick or treating through our neighborhood. When we get back home, he dumps all his candy into a big bowl. And then we hand out that candy to trick or treaters that come to our house. He has as much fun giving out the candy as he does getting it. We do get him a few organic treats, so he does enjoy the “sweets” of the holiday.

Hi Dan,

LOVE that idea. Wish I’d have implemented it when my kids were young, because I’d have a revolt for sure if I tried getting them to do that now!

So, parents with younger children, begin some healthy Halloween traditions before it’s too late!

Thanks,
Kelly
